Fat Tabby Cat Studio is my food blog experiment. Here I will post recipes that I tried and loved. They are at the image of what I eat: lots of veggies, soups, and stews, but more importantly: TONS if cakes and sweets.
This blog doesn’t have a particular theme, but globally I would say that my recipes are simple. They just need few ingredients and simple equipment. This is really important to me because I have a tiny kitchen and don’t want to be bothered with appliances and gadgets.
Who’s the Fat Tabby Cat?
It’s my cat Darwin. I adopted her in 2014 in Montréal. She loves watching me doing my photoshoots. Sometime she will even participate. She is a very curious cat that loves eating! I work generally from home and I glad I have her at my side!
Who am I?
I am Aurélie and I am a commercial food (and drink) photographer. I am a freelancer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I work with restaurants, producers and agencies. If you want to see my work, please check out my portfolio!
I am 30 something, born and raised in Paris. I’ve lived 5 years in Montréal and now I am in Edinburgh. Before being a photographer I was a palaeontologist. I was doing research in a lab at the Natural History National Museum of Paris.
Cooking has always been part of my life but I would have never expected it would be part of my job as well! I’ve learned my first recipe when I was 5 (I baked madeleines) and I’ve never looked back since then! It’s only in second year of my photography school when we had our first food assignment that I had an epiphany: I felt at the right place and this is what I wanted to do.
I decided to create this blog because I have requests from lots of people asking me the recipes of my portfolio’s photos. On a personal level, it’s also a good way to keep track of what I create and try. It is also a great way to challenge me to shoot more regularly!
